Samsung launched its new phone, the Samsung Galaxy A55, on March 11th at 2:30 p.m. Interestingly, Samsung also introduced another new model, the Samsung Galaxy A35. Surprisingly, up to 50–60% of people were unaware of this second launch, mainly because Samsung chose to launch these phones in the offline market. In today's blog, my main focus will be on providing you with the specifications and pricing details of the Samsung Galaxy A55.

The Evolution of the Samsung Galaxy A Series

The Samsung Galaxy A series debuted in 2014 as excellent mid-range smartphones. Both smartphones and tablets are included in this series. The first model, the Galaxy Alpha, was launched in 2014. Samsung had set a target of selling 20 million Galaxy A smartphones in 2017. This series is important to Samsung's strategy, as it strengthens the company's competitiveness in the mid-range segment.

On March 11, 2024, Samsung launched the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G. Both of these phones offer a unique gaming experience. With a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display, FHD+ resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate, you'll enjoy immersive visuals. These phones come with a 5000mAh battery and 25W fast charging. Both run on Android 14-based OneUI 6.0 software pre-installed. The Galaxy A55 features a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP wide lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 32MP front camera. The Galaxy A35 also includes 50MP, 8MP, and 5MP sensors. These phones come with the latest gaming features.

Compared to previous versions, this new model utilizes a metallic frame, which enhances the smartphone's premium feel and durability. The display incorporates Gorilla Glass Victus, providing greater protection against scratches and shattering. Additionally, this smartphone will feature an IP67 dust and water resistance rating, offering optimal protection for everyday use. It will also have a "Key Island" in its frame to house the volume and power buttons. Furthermore, the Galaxy A55 5G will be available in various colors, including Awesome Iceblue, Awesome Lemon, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy.

Display Technology

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G features a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ (Full HD+) resolution. It boasts a refresh rate of 120 Hz, providing a super smooth and immersive experience. The Galaxy A55 5G utilizes Gorilla Glass Victus for enhanced protection against scratches and shattering. With an IP67 dust and water resistance rating, this smartphone prioritizes security. It does not have Galaxy AI features, but some Galaxy AI features, such as wallpaper support for Always On Display, are not available. According to the software update policy, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G will receive support for one major upgrade every month for up to four months and security upgrades for up to five years.
